A day in the life....
June 2nd 2008 01:46
I live in a zoo.... well at least at this moment it feels like one. As I am typing I have three dogs attacking each other - in a loving, biting manner of course. One will be a year old June 12th, the other two are 10 weeks old. What are you doing with three dogs, two cats, three kids, a hamster, fish and a crawfish? Crawfish? Yeah, don't ask.... we'll get to that later. Some people may think I am mentally unstable. They may be right!
The eldest puppy is Bella. They are all cockapoos (we'll save that name for a later blog title - it's too good not to have some fun with), and all from the same parents; different litters of course. I had the brilliant idea that Bella needed a playmate. I contacted the breeder and went and picked out a puppy. Long story short I ended up bringing the other brother home so that my mom could have a puppy.
Which brings me to now. I have a one year old baby boy, a five year old, and an almost 9 year old. So I clean baby butt, and the occasional puppy butt. Potty training 2 puppies is definitley not the easiest task I have ever tried to tackle. Next month my husband and I get to drive 15 hours away, to my lovely home state, with three kids and three dogs. I should really install a camera on my dash just to capture the insanity! Surely they will be a couple moments that would win my top prize on America's Funniest Home Videos!
Tip of the day: I don't believe in the quote "Never bite off more than you can chew". I say bite it! Take a big ole honkin bite and CHEW CHEW CHEW! How do you know what you can accomplish without straining the limits? I know I have a zoo, and it isn't easy, but my children are growing up animal lovers. I usually do not say no when they ask me for a pet. Experiences and responsibility are priceless. My middle child has always said that she will be a pet doctor when she grows up, I'm just giving her the ability to grow into a true animal lover!
