Royal Baby Named
December 21st 2007 21:07
Buckingham Palace has announced that Prince Edward and his wife Sophie have named their new baby son James Alexander Philip Theo Mountbatten.
Their son was born on Monday weighing 6lbs 2oz (2.8kg). He is a baby brother for four-year-old Lady Louise Windsor and eighth in line to the throne. His title will be Viscount Severn.
Prince Edward and Sophie, 42, took him home from Frimley Park NHS hospital in Surrey on Thursday.
It is certainly a conventional name as you would expect from the royals unlike other celebrity names announced this year such as Katie Price and Peter Andre’s daughter Princess Tiammii.
Katie explained at the time
At least the name James is easy to spell.

“We've put an accent over the first 'a' to make it a bit more exotic and two 'ii's at the end just to make it a bit different.”
