Things I Shouldn't Admit - Part 1
November 9th 2009 02:14
I don't fold laundry.
Actually, that's not 100 % true. I fold my clothes and my husband's clothes. But, I NEVER, fold my kids clothes.
That might not sound that bad, except that they don't fold their clothes either.
I have three mesh laundry baskets, one for each kidlet. Their clothes come out of the dryer and I toss them--Yes, I literally toss them (maybe, it's more like throw them) into the proper basket.
And there they sit. Until my kids either:
1) are forced to put their clothes into their drawers
2) decide the basket is their drawer
In my defense, I used to make a big deal about folding clothes, making sure the drawers were neat, blah, blah, blah. However, I have a 3-year-old!! Learning to dress himself!!
That means he shuffles through every drawer, pulls out half the clothes, finally picks something (ususally one of his three favorites-- idea: maybe I should just get rid of all his clothes except for those three sets )
Anyway, Snickers (the 6-year-old) isn't much better. So I have to ask:
What's the point in folding the clothes????
For all of you super-organized, fashion-perfect readers that are surely cringing: I know, I know: wrinkles, drawers that close, more room in the drawers. All I keep thinking is how much time I'm not spending in the laundry room.
Maybe, I oughta invest in one of those As Seen On TV clothes folding-thingys.
Am I really the only one?
If anyone has any household cheating methods they're willing to share, Let me in on them. Please!
